Machine- Pedestrian Collision Avoidance [PAS]
PEDESTRIAN ALERT SYSTEM (PAS)
Pedestrian Alert System (PAS) cautions MHE operators
about the presence of a pedestrian at a settable distance
between 0-10 meters.
The Pedestrian alert system consists of CAS nodes that are mounted on the MHE and TRAKR tags that are
given to the workers nearby. Multiple CAS nodes (generally more than 4) are put on the MHE to ensure that
there is no blind spot. Depending on the MHE model, the machine can be configured to automatically slow
down or stop as soon as a person comes too close to the MHE.
01
PROVIDE TAG TO EACH WORKER
A TRAKR tag which can be mounted on helmet
or worn as band is provided to each worker
who is working near the MHE
02
MOUNT THE CAS NODE
4 or more CAS nodes are mounted on the MHE
to ensure that there is no blind spot
03
CONFIGURE THE DISTANCE
The alert and emergency distances can be set
between 0 to 10 m using a smartphone app
Configuration
NEAR ZONE
When a forklift detects a pedestrian in its
safety zone, the driver and the pedestrian are
both immediately warned about the potential
risk by activation of a light and/or buzzer.
EMERGENCY ZONE
If the speed limiting or stopping capability is
available, the Pedestrian Alert System (PAS)
unit can be wired in to slow down or stop the
forklift on detection.
